New tools for artists: JWildfire V0.53 releaseJust released JWildfire V0.53.Major additions where made to fractal flame editor regarding to controlling image quality at the artist level. There is now an antialiasing option which you can specify at the transform level and some additional powerful gradient manipulation tools.Complete list of changes:- new antialising option on the transform level, you can control this by two parameters: amount (how many samples are affected by this effect) and radius (how strong is the antialasing effect)- new gradient manipulation functions: invert and reverse gradient- new gradient manipulation properties: blur and frequency- changed the layout of the main toolbar so that it better resizes according to different screen resolutions- new built-in script example (based on "Mobius Dragon" by penny5775)- using multiple threads for tonemapping of the realtime preview which should result in smoother behaviour on most machines- fixed a bug in the Elliptic variation (now should work like the old *
JWildfire with interactive renderer: V0.43 releaseJust released JWildfire V0.43.Major changes where made to the fractal flames generator T.I.N.A. - this time with a complete new feature the interactive renderer. The interactive renderer serves two purposes:1. Explore random fractals in a really funny way. You can now follow the rendering of a fractal. If you have seen enough just press the NEXT button to get a new randomly generated flame. If you like it you can save it or copy it to the clipboard to tweak it in the main editor. Of course, you can load or paste any (non random) fractal into the interactive renderer.2. WYSIWYG: Render an image until you are satisfied. Here is no oversampling applied. You can save the image all the time while it still rendering. So you can have a closer look at it to see if its really done, e.g. in a image processing software.Complete list of changes:- First "complete" and working version of the interactive renderer- FIXED: filter radius was always set to high in rendering- mino
JWildfire V0.41 releaseJust released JWildfire V0.41.Major changes where made to the fractal flames generator T.I.N.A.::- variation effect preview which can be turned on/off using a new button in the preview area. (This preview displays how the superimposition of all variations (of the currently selected transform) affects a rectangular grid of points. So it can be a great way of exploring what a certain variation actually does and how their parameters work.)- minor improvements to the Flower3D and SubFlame random flame generators- nBlur, linearT and linearT3D variations by FractalDesire- post_zscale_wf and post_ztranslate_wf variations for better control of 3D fractals- optimized coloring of the subflame_wf variation- new exponent parameter for the spherical3d_wf variationAs usual click the "Random flames" button to start playing around and have fun You can download the new version at the projects web page: http://www.andreas-maschke.com/?page_id=351Some recent renders::thumb2
Lots of new stuff: JWildfire V0.44 releaseJust released JWildfire V0.44.All of the numerous changes belong to the fractal flames generator T.I.N.A. , this release is some kind of "consolidation release". Complete list of changes:- resolution and quality profiles for the main editor and the interactive renderer- quality- and resolution-profile-editor- quality- and resolution-related settings removed from the Preferences-window- randomize color keyframe position in the random gradient generator to create more interesting gradients- use gradients of random size in the random flame generators- "From Editor"/"To Editor" buttons to quick exchanging from fractals between the editor and the interactive renderer- rudimentary statistics display in the interactive renderer- automatically clear the screen in the interactive renderer- the interactive renderer also now respects the quality setting (from the render profile) and does not "overrender" as quickly as before- take into account the real density while tonemapping an imag

Plugin fun: JWildfire V0.52 releaseJust released JWildfire V0.52 after a rather long time.I had started to create an alternative external renderer (specialized to render movies more quickly) in the meantime. This release is something like an "intermediate release". It has lots of internal optimizations, many new plugins to play with and some bugs fixed. But the new renderer is not yet included because this would have been just to much work in this time period. So this release contains many smaller enhancements and you may look forward for the upcoming V0.53 which will bring up some really new stuff Complete list of changes:- "eCollide", "eJulia", "eMod", "eMotion", "ePush", "eRotate", "eScale" and "eSwirl" variations by Michael Faber- "bCollide", "bMod", "bSwirl" and "bTransform" variations by Michael Faber- adjusted the "epispiral" plugin that it seem to work the same as the *.dll version (where the code seems to be lost)- "dc_ztransl", "post_dcztransl" and "pre_dcztransl" variations by Xyrus02- "Glynnia" plu
JWildfire: nested flames! :-)Finally found a efficient way to nest flames - even if they have a final transform The only thing which does not work (and will not work) is opacity. The feature will be included in the next release which will come in one of the next days. Here are some images created using this technique:
New subproject EDEN/JWildfireHello friends,I wanted just to announce my new JWildfire sub project: EDEN.EDEN will be a Java-based 3D structure synthesizer with the focus on high quality, flexibility and an easy-to-understand syntax/language.I do know that there is already a very powerful product of this kind called Structure Synth ( http://structuresynth.sourceforge.net/ ). Structure Synth bases on a rather abstract approach using rules in a specialized language called EisenScript. This approach works very well but is not very easy to learn and seem to handle special cases not always very well.Currently there do not exist that many concrete ideas for the syntax or detail features of EDEN. I have just started to create the application framework which utilizes Sunflow as integrated renderer. Here are the first scenes created by the project (rendered using the integrated renderer):Any comments/hints/suggestions as always are very welcome
New Version of jWildfire v0.51Andreas has released a new, not just an update but a new version. No V0.51 jar file available, please use the version with the launcher this time http://www.andreas-maschke.com/?page_id=351Just released JWildfire V0.51 which I'm really proud to present. All those problems with starting the application and using wrong settings etc. should now be resolved because I have created an own JWildfire-dedicated launcher! To make it even more sweet the JWildfire users group did a contest for creating images which are displayed in the launcher. So you are always welcomed with a nice image Additionally there are about 20 new variations available most of them are supporting the 3D mode Complete list of changes:- created a own JWildfire launcher (as separate application), removed the previously used launcher ("appstart")- included 15 images from the launcher image voting contest into the launcher- save/restore the desktop- and window-position and size- seve
